Prisioneiros colaboram em projetos cientificos

Em estudo sobre biologia de plantas prisioneiros colaboram Uma boa idéia

Now here's an innovative and fascinating project where a scientist has prisoners at a high-security prison helping her with some of her research

Here's an interesting Staple News story about a scientist, ecologist Nalini Nadkarni, a member of the faculty at The Evergreen State College who studies forests and prairies. She and her collaborator, environmental scientist Carl Elliot, a graduate research associate at The Evergreen State College, are studying rare prairie plants at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, Washington, USA. The inmates help the researchers by planting seeds, observing plant growth and recording data.
This fascinating work is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Read more about this: Sustainable Prisons Project and Staple News story (includes stunning photographs).
